Complications if You Don’t Reverse Diabetes

Complications if You Don’t Reverse Diabetes

The obvious problem with Diabetes is that the excess sugars will build up OUTSIDE the cells (in our blood) and cause damage to our vessels. This is where most of health problems Diabetics face actually occur… in the blood vessels.

The damage

The damage in our vessels can manifest as kidney or eye disease (i.e. Diabetic nephropathy or retinopathy), our arteries in legs causing peripheral vascular disease (PVD), the blood vessels to the heart causing early coronary artery disease (CAD), or carotid arteries causing strokes.

It doesn’t sound like a very good trade off does it?

More drastic damage and complications

The reality is that if we didn’t protect the internal components of our cells, there would much more drastic damage and complications from the damage generated within our own cells. So as the cells become more resistant to insulin, we begin dealing with higher blood glucose.

The body (actually the pancreas) now responds to the higher blood sugars by producing MORE insulin. This begins years or even decades PRIOR TO being diagnosed with Diabetes and years or even decades prior to even your fasting blood glucose increasing.

Yes, that’s right. Most Diabetics had insulin resistance LONG BEFORE they were Diabetic!

The situation worsens

Eventually the insulin resistance worsens and the pancreas can’t keep up, then blood sugar begins to elevate.

Putting all this together leads us to the conclusion that an elevated blood sugar, which initially is called “Borderline Diabetes” or “Pre-Diabetes”, is actually a late sign of a process that had been going on likely for YEARS or EVEN DECADES!

This is why early detection can really help avoid the damage to your body over time.
