Signs and Symptoms of Aging

oldermanOk, let’s face it, as we hit our thirties and forties, we all begin to see those subtle signs and symptoms of aging.

  • Weight gain
  • Brain fog
  • Loss of muscle tone
  • Aches and pains
  • Gastrointestinal issues

You may even notice it is a little more difficult to recover if you stray from the normal routine (ie. staying up late, playing with the kids or grandkids, or over-exerting yourself during a game of ball).

Many people may try to tell you (even some of us docs!) that this is a normal part of the aging process.

Well, I beg to differ!

An individual can stay healthy, energetic, and be disease free for many decades by putting together a simple formula that involves the following:

  • Hormonal balance
  • Physical fitness
  • Maintenance of healthy heart and lungs
  • Nutrient optimization
  • Detoxification

Of course, many factors come into play here. An individual’s environment can affect their longevity (ie. second hand smoke, big city smog). However, unless you are willing to move to another city or avoid family and friends that smoke, these are not completely under your control.

There are many things we can control.

For example, the quality and types of food products we eat and the amount and variety of exercise we get have a significant impact on not only our health but quality of life as we age.

Furthermore… nutrient and antioxidant supplementation provide another way we can be more proactive in slowing down the aging process. By providing our cells with optimum nutrients for its daily activities and reducing the insult that oxidative damage incurs on our system as whole, we can improve cellular function which translates into more energy, better mood, improved sex drive and function, and lower risk for disease.

Give us a call at The Lamkin Clinic to discuss some of your aging concerns and to see how we can help you!

Healthy Regards,
